From ebcf48751d2a7515a31e5293d4fc5965d2458906 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Rohit Goswami Date: Sun, 11 Oct 2026 08:30:09 -0500 Subject: [PATCH] Halve the build parallelism for Highway Compiling the Highway tests runs out of virtual memory on aarch64/generic, which leaves the build in software-layer#1692 with an empty tarball. Highway gets a '*' entry that halves the cores, and keeps a quarter on A64FX, since a software entry replaces the A64FX default. --- eb_hooks.py | 7 +++++++ 1 file changed, 7 insertions(+) diff --git a/eb_hooks.py b/eb_hooks.py index fc26f88b..afc00fad 100644 --- a/eb_hooks.py +++ b/eb_hooks.py @@ -2638,6 +2638,13 @@ def set_maximum(parallel, max_value): 'hipBLASLt': { '*': (set_maximum, 8), }, + 'Highway': { + # compiling the Highway tests runs out of memory on aarch64/generic, + # see https://github.com/EESSI/software-layer/pull/1692; + # keep the A64FX default, since a '*' entry here would override it + '*': (divide_by_factor, 2), + CPU_TARGET_A64FX: (divide_by_factor, 4), + }, 'libxc': { '*': (divide_by_factor, 2), CPU_TARGET_A64FX: (set_maximum, 6),
