MySQL HeatWave is Oracle's fully managed MySQL database service built around an in-memory query accelerator that runs real-time analytics directly on transactional data, without extracting it into a separate analytics database. The same service adds in-database large language models, a vector store, and machine learning for building generative-AI and ML applications against MySQL data, plus a Lakehouse capability for querying data held in object storage alongside the transactional and analytical engines.

It can be deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure, billed on a pay-as-you-go, per-hour compute and storage basis, with a free 30-day, $300-credit trial for new users.

Flink CDC runs on top of Apache Flink and captures row-level changes from a source database's binlog, streaming them into one or more sinks with exactly-once semantics. It offers three API layers: a no-code YAML Pipeline API for declaring source, sink, routing, and transformation rules and submitting them via the `flink-cdc.sh` CLI, a Flink SQL API for defining CDC sources with SQL DDL, and a DataStream API for Java/Scala pipelines. Built-in features include whole-database and sharded-table synchronization, automatic schema evolution as the source schema changes, and on-the-fly data transformation (projections and filters) during the sync.

Its available source connectors include MySQL, TiDB, Vitess, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, OceanBase, and Db2, with pipeline sinks for Doris, StarRocks, Iceberg, Hudi, Paimon, Elasticsearch, and Kafka, among others. It's built on top of Apache Flink and released under the Apache 2.0 license.

MariaDB Server began as a fork of MySQL led by the original MySQL developers and has grown into its own database while maintaining a high degree of MySQL wire-protocol and syntax compatibility, making it a straightforward migration target for existing MySQL deployments. It ships pluggable storage engines — InnoDB (the transactional default), Aria, MyRocks, the ColumnStore analytical engine, the Spider sharding engine, and S3 for archival — alongside a native `VECTOR` type with HNSW approximate-nearest-neighbour indexing since 11.8, common table expressions, window functions, system-versioned (temporal) tables, and an Oracle SQL compatibility mode with PL/SQL-style stored routines.

Replication options range from asynchronous and semi-synchronous to parallel replication with global transaction IDs, alongside Galera synchronous multi-primary clustering. It's released under GPLv2, follows a yearly long-term-support release model (three years of maintenance) alongside quarterly rolling releases, and is distributed as native packages for major platforms as well as official Docker images.
