AI: writing assistant in the message composer (rewrite / tighten / expand / fix grammar / make a thread / suggest tags) #5
Part of #3 — AI Writing Assistance is entirely missing from the Android app
Web behaviour (/help/ai → Writing Assistant in the composer): an AI control in the
composer toolbar offers six actions on the current draft.
Action
Result
Rewrite
A cleaner version of the same message
Tighten
Shorter, punchier
Expand
Longer, more detail
Fix grammar
Corrections only, voice intact
Make a thread
Splits a long draft into a numbered sequence of posts
Suggest tags
Recommended tags based on the draft
Each result is a suggestion, not an edit. Text suggestions offer Replace draft or Use in draft; tag suggestions offer Add tags. The composer does not change until the
user picks one.
Wire through POST /api/ai/suggest with the appropriate feature value per action.
"Make a thread" must produce a reviewable numbered sequence, not a single blob.
"Suggest tags" depends on composer tag support — see the Tags epic.
Tests: ViewModel test per action (suggestion state, accept → draft mutated, discard → draft
untouched); Compose test that the control is absent when the AI gate is closed.
