feat(people): add the people.* tRPC router for the admin People area - #83
viganogabriele wants to merge 1 commit into
Conversation
Implements the 61 procedures the admin dashboard's People area calls (admin PRs #97 and #100): persons, members, admins, teams, census campaigns and imports, account linking and invites, Capo Admin, the personal area, fee renewals and signed receipts. Receipt signing goes through the existing eSign service: each receipt keeps a persistent association with its signing request, the signature commit re-checks People eligibility in the same transaction, and the receipt is completed atomically with the signature. Mail goes through a durable outbox that never resends a message whose outcome is unknown. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
WalkthroughThis pull request adds a People service with persistent records, membership and census workflows, fee receipts, and authenticated API routes. It connects receipt signing to the e-sign service and adds import parsing, email delivery, and scheduled maintenance. ChangesPeople service

Validate the PEOPLE_IBAN checksum and country length.
The regex checks only the general shape. A typo in one digit passes validation. getMyArea then shows the wrong IBAN to every current member as the payment instruction. Check the ISO 13616 length for the country code, then run the mod-97 check, in a .refine. The service fails at startup on a bad value, which is the correct time for an operator-owned setting.

Rethrow only TRPCError. Other parser errors must become BAD_REQUEST.
The "code" in error check also matches errors that are not TRPCError:
- Node's
TextDecoderwithfatal: truethrowsTypeErrorwithcode: "ERR_ENCODING_INVALID_ENCODED_DATA"for invalid UTF-8. - fflate throws errors with a numeric
codefor a corrupt or truncated ZIP.
Both errors pass the guard and are rethrown unchanged. tRPC then reports INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR instead of "Cannot read a UTF-8 CSV or XLSX workbook". A Latin-1 CSV export from Excel triggers this path.

Detect rows in the same file that belong to the same person.
The preview matches each row only against u.state.persons. It does not compare a row with earlier rows in the same file. Forms exports often contain two submissions from one person, and their completion times differ, so the fingerprints differ too. This causes two failures:
- Existing person: both rows get the same
personId. InimportCommit, the second row hitsp.census.some((e) => e.year === c.year && e.answer)at Line 800 and fails withCONFLICT. The whole import rolls back, and the message "A census answer changed after the preview" is wrong. - New person: both rows get
personId: null.importCommitthen callsnewPersontwice, which creates two records with the same email.
Track emails seen in this preview. Send each repeat to invalid (or keep only the newest by answeredOn) before you push the row into rows.

Do not drop a correction request when an unresolved review already exists.
review() returns any unresolved review with the same sub and kind. Corrections use kind "name-only". A second correction therefore returns the first review and loses the new field/value text. A leftover name-only match review from candidate() also absorbs the correction. The request still succeeds and logs "Requested correction", so the member assumes HR received it. Create a new review for each correction, or append to the existing review's message.

Checked against PoliNetworkOrg/backend#83: - Send kept census groups by chat ID (titles aren't unique) and encode campaign IDs in links, since the backend uses the academic year. - Accept invite links: My area reads `peopleInvite` and calls `people.me.acceptInvite`. - A census answer is final: the backend refuses a second one and ends roles at once, so drop "Change answer" and say so in the copy. - Ending a Capo Admin's admin role needs `people:appoint`; suspending or ending a membership needs a reason. - Reminder toasts report unsent reminders without guessing the cause; Capo approvals no longer claim the Telegram promotion happened.
