This failed with "The version '3.15' with architecture 'x64' was not found for Ubuntu 24.04." once, but turns out the builds for setup-python were just released: actions/setup-python#1367 (comment) |

Not sure when we add "Programming Language :: Python :: 3.15" to deltachat-rpc-client/pyproject.toml? Should we do this now, or after seeing for some time that Python 3.15 is fine?

I think this could be PYTHON_VERSION: "3.15" (with quotes) to prevent a small future footgun? An unquoted 3.20 would be read as 3.2 on a future bump.
Also moved python version to environment variable so status checks will be named "JSON-RPC Python tests (ubuntu-latest, latest)" instead of "JSON-RPC Python tests (ubuntu-latest, 3.14)" and we don't have to update the list of required status checks each time the version changes. We already do the same for Rust.

CI took five reruns here, but finally passed. I opened an issue with more details about CFFI CI getting stuck: #8838 |
