Summary

  • Add a hotspot gate that fails only when a changed Python file is both complex (same CCN 10 / NLOC 80 caps as the existing diff gate) and in the top change-frequency set.
  • Keep scripts/test-check-complexity.sh as the diff gate. A quiet complex file still passes.

Test plan

  • Local tests.yml commands, including the hotspot proving test and python scripts/check-hotspot.py --base origin/main
  • GitHub unit workflow is green

Made with Cursor

The existing complexity script stays the diff gate for new or rising CCN. This gate only rejects a file that is also in the top change-frequency set, so a quiet fail-closed fix still passes.
