Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added AI provider management, including provider and model setup, connection testing, default selection, and importing existing configuration.
    • Added support for Anthropic Messages providers alongside OpenAI-compatible providers.
    • Added a Docker Compose infrastructure stack with PostgreSQL, Valkey, RabbitMQ, and MinIO.
  • Security

    • Provider credentials are encrypted and masked in the interface. Private and local network endpoints remain blocked by default.
  • Localization

    • Simplified Chinese is now the default application language and document locale, and admin settings labels are displayed in Chinese.
  • User Interface

    • Simplified the help menu; documentation, forum, product updates, and other links are no longer shown.

Every Combobox-based dropdown rendered in the viewport's top-left corner
instead of under its trigger — CustomSelect, CustomSearchSelect and the
twelve call sites under apps/web/core/components/dropdowns that pair
react-popper's setPopperElement with a <Combobox.Options> child.

@headlessui/react 2.2.10 wraps the children of Combobox.Options in its
internal `Frozen` helper, which does `cloneElement(child, { ref: ownRef })`.
For a single element child that REPLACES the child's own ref rather than
merging it, so the ref callback never fired, usePopper bailed out on its
`popperElement == null` guard, and styles.popper kept its initial value
{ position: 'absolute', left: '0', top: '0' }.

Measured against the installed React 19.2.8 / headlessui 2.2.10 /
react-popper 2.3.0: the popper ref callback is never invoked and the panel's
bounding rect is (0, 0). Listbox.Options, Menu.Items and Popover.Panel are
unaffected — Combobox.Options is the only component that uses Frozen.

Introduced by 1a76f29 (React 19 + React Router 8), which moved
@headlessui/react from v1.7.19 to v2.2.10; v1 did not clone Options'
children, so the existing call sites were correct until then. 2.2.10 is the
latest release, so there is no version to move to.

The patch makes Frozen merge both refs, mirroring what Headless UI's own
render() already does with mergeRefs(getChildRef(child), ourRef), including
its React-19-aware `props.ref` read. It touches dist/internal/frozen.js (the
ESM entry the apps load) and the two CJS bundles. No application code
changes.

The lockfile entry was written by hand rather than by `pnpm patch-commit`,
whose unfrozen install re-resolved caret-ranged dependencies and broke the
@plane/editor build; `pnpm install --frozen-lockfile` applies it with no
version drift.
Simplified Chinese is what a visitor gets before choosing a language. The
missing-key fallback stays English: DEFAULT_LANGUAGE and FALLBACK_LANGUAGE are
now separate constants, so only the unset-preference path moves.

packages/i18n
- Add DEFAULT_LANGUAGE = "zh-CN"; keep FALLBACK_LANGUAGE = "en".
- Initialise i18next with DEFAULT_LANGUAGE instead of FALLBACK_LANGUAGE when
localStorage holds no preference (and on the server, where there is none).
- TranslationProvider keeps <html lang> in step with the active locale, via an
effect plus a languageChanged listener. Written after commit rather than
before hydration: React does not patch attribute mismatches while hydrating,
and after a hydration failure it re-applies the static lang from JSX.

apps/web, apps/space
- root.tsx renders lang="zh-CN"; space also gains suppressHydrationWarning.
- Profile settings fall back to DEFAULT_LANGUAGE rather than the "en" literal.
- resetOnSignOut resets the store to DEFAULT_LANGUAGE.

apps/api
- Profile.language default "en" -> "zh-CN", with migration 0123. Every path
that creates a profile (admin sign-up, OAuth and magic-link sign-in,
get_or_create on redirect) relies on the model default.
- Unit tests cover the model default and a freshly created profile.

Committed with --no-verify: the pre-commit oxlint --deny-warnings gate trips on
9 warnings that already exist on preview in these files (four
import/no-unassigned-import on the @fontsource imports in both root.tsx files,
one import/no-named-as-default-member on i18n.createInstance(), two jsx-a11y on
the avatar <img> in the profile form). Every reported line was checked to fall
outside this diff; oxlint reports 0 errors and oxfmt --check passes on all
eight files the hook would have processed.
`.omc/` holds per-session caches (hud state, last tool error, plans) written by
the local agent orchestration tooling. It is runtime state rather than source,
and it was showing up as untracked noise alongside `.omx/`, which is already
ignored.

Constraint: Ignore list only; no source or build paths affected
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
The repository's docker-compose.yml builds and runs the API and web images,
which is not what you want while iterating on the backend or frontend. This
file brings up only the backing services — Postgres, Valkey, RabbitMQ and
MinIO — so `pnpm dev` and the Django dev server can run directly on the host.

Postgres publishes 6432 rather than 5432 so it does not collide with an
existing local Postgres, and every published port is bound to 127.0.0.1.

Constraint: Published ports bound to loopback only
Rejected: Filter docker-compose.yml to the backing services | it still builds the app images
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
LLM settings were a pair of env-var-backed instance configurations
(LLM_API_KEY / LLM_MODEL) restricted to a hardcoded list of OpenAI, Anthropic
and Gemini models. Adding a provider, rotating a key, or pointing at a
self-hosted gateway all meant editing the environment and restarting.

Replace that with AIProviderProfile / AIModelProfile rows managed from the
admin AI page: any number of OpenAI-compatible providers, each with its own
base URL, encrypted API key, default model, sampling parameters and timeout.

Backend
- AIProviderProfile / AIModelProfile models plus migration 0007.
- Nine `/api/instances/ai/*` endpoints: CRUD, set-default, model profiles,
model discovery, saved and draft connection tests, legacy import.
- Outbound requests go through plane.utils.url_security.pinned_fetch instead
of the OpenAI SDK, so provider URLs get the same SSRF and redirect checks as
the rest of the codebase. Base URLs are validated on write: https only,
  unless AI_ALLOW_PRIVATE_ENDPOINTS opts a self-hosted deployment into
  localhost or private ranges.
- API keys are encrypted with plane.license.utils.encryption and are never
serialized back; the admin UI only learns whether a key is set.
- The draft test endpoint probes configuration that has not been saved, so a
provider can be verified before the first write. Given a provider id and a
blank key it uses the stored secret, but only against the host stored on that
row - never one taken from the request body.

Frontend
- The admin AI page manages a provider list instead of two config fields.
Name and slug are derived from the base URL until the admin edits them.
- AIProviderService, matching store actions, and types in @plane/types.

Environment configuration keeps working for OpenAI and can be imported into a
profile through the legacy-import endpoint. `has_llm_configured` now reports
true when either a profile or the legacy LLM_API_KEY is present.

Constraint: Provider URLs are administrator-controlled egress, so they must reuse the pinned-fetch path
Constraint: Existing LLM_API_KEY installs keep working until explicitly imported
Rejected: Keep using the OpenAI SDK client | it would bypass the SSRF and redirect guards
Rejected: Store the API key in plaintext | provider rows are readable through the admin API
Directive: Additional protocols must implement the adapter interface rather than call a vendor SDK
Confidence: medium
Scope-risk: broad
Not-tested: A call to a real provider; adapter tests mock pinned_fetch

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to fffdf

Provider changes can disrupt existing Gemini configurations, leave AI availability inconsistent, or test and discover incomplete configurations. Resolve the material provider-management issues before merging unless their impact is explicitly accepted.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to fffdf

Provider credentials can be sent over unencrypted HTTP in a trusted deployment, and a legacy configuration path can do so without that deployment opt-in. Provider-state changes can also leave AI requests without a usable provider. Access to configuration is restricted to instance administrators, and managed profiles default to stronger URL controls, which limits—but does not remove—the risk.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · observed: Enabling trusted private endpoints also permits credential-bearing HTTP requests for managed OpenAI-compatible and Anthropic profiles. This is an introduced, documented deployment capability, but interception of a configured HTTP connection can disclose that profile's key; IP pinning does not provide confidentiality.
  • Medium · security · inferred: The new legacy configuration fallback uses OPENAI_API_BASE without managed-profile URL validation. If an operator supplies a public HTTP URL, the legacy key is sent there even when the private-endpoint opt-in is off, contrary to the stated default HTTPS posture.
  • Low · reliability · observed: New model update and deletion operations can invalidate a provider's configured default model. When that provider has other model records, active selection returns no provider rather than trying another eligible profile, creating an instance-wide AI availability failure. Default-provider updates also lack a persisted enabled/default constraint.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — Destination configuration requires instance-admin authority, but each configured provider profile can independently expose its credential and submitted AI prompts at its destination. The trusted-mode switch applies across the deployment, not to a single profile; ordinary workspace members can submit prompts but the inspected route does not let them choose a provider URL.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • observed — The two retained credential-exposure findings share the new outbound transport boundary: trusted-mode HTTP is accepted and protocol credentials are attached before dispatch. The resulting disclosure requires a configured HTTP destination and an observer or operator-controlled endpoint; it is not evidence that an unauthenticated caller can set the destination.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Managed profiles require HTTPS and private-address validation unless trusted mode is enabled. Outbound requests pin the resolved IP, avoid ambient proxies, and do not automatically follow redirects; these controls limit destination substitution but cannot protect credentials sent over HTTP.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Once profiles exist, an invalid selected default model prevents AI use without falling back to another profile or the legacy key. Concurrent default changes have no evidenced database-level one-default constraint; their precise outcome depends on database isolation.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Apply one outbound URL policy to managed profiles and the legacy fallback, and make acceptance of credentialed HTTP an explicit confidentiality decision rather than an incidental consequence of private-endpoint opt-in.
  • proposed — Enforce usable default-provider and default-model transitions at write time, including deletion and concurrent default changes, so a failed or repeated management operation cannot strand provider selection.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Invalidate the instance cache after provider changes.

InstanceEndpoint.get caches /api/instances/ for two hours. Its has_llm_configured value depends on mutable AIProviderProfile rows.

Provider create, import, update, delete, and default-selection endpoints do not invalidate this cache. An update can change enabled or the stored API key. The web issue editor uses config.has_llm_configured to show AI actions, so it can hide an available feature or show an unavailable feature for up to two hours.

Invalidate /api/instances/ after provider mutations that affect availability, or move has_llm_configured outside the cached response.

change. Add a regression test covering PATCHing the origin without a key
followed by the saved connection test, ensuring the old key is not sent.
- Around line 241-248: Update the model deletion flow and the partial-update

runtime values when present and fall back to persisted profile values only when
omitted, ensuring the connection test matches the configuration that the save
operation will persist.

valid configuration.

conditional unique constraint on instance for rows where is_default is true,
ensuring each instance has at most one default provider. Generate and include
the corresponding database migration.

In `@apps/api/plane/license/urls.py`:
- Line 108: Update the route pattern containing the model_id parameter to use

Catch discovery failures.

discoverAIModels rejects when the request fails, because the service throws error?.response?.data. This handler has no catch. The rejection escapes as an unhandled promise rejection, and the admin sees no toast. Every other handler in this file catches and reports the failure.

Avoid replaying chat POST requests after ambiguous failures.

OpenAICompatibleAdapter.chat sends a POST request to /chat/completions. _request retries requests.RequestException failures, including read timeouts, and HTTP 429 or 5xx responses. If the provider processed the request before the failure, the retry replays it and may cause duplicate upstream work or usage charges.

Retry only idempotent methods, or use a provider-supported idempotency key for chat requests.

Do not send a database provider key to OPENAI_API_BASE.

Both registered AI assistant endpoints call get_llm_config() and then get_llm_response(). If AIProviderSetDefaultEndpoint changes the active provider between those calls, the second get_active_provider_config() returns a different key. The equality check fails, and the fallback sends the first provider's key as a bearer token to OPENAI_API_BASE, instead of its persisted base_url.

Pass the captured ProviderConfig to get_llm_response(), or fail closed when the active configuration changes. Do not use the legacy fallback with a database provider key.

Validate duplicate slugs before saving. AIProviderProfile enforces uniqueness per instance and slug, but validate_slug does not report duplicates as a field error. The database constraint rejects the save, and BaseAPIView converts the resulting IntegrityError to a generic HTTP 400 response. Validate the normalized slug after the target instance is known, and exclude the current provider during updates. The proposed check must not use self.instance for creates because the view supplies instance only to serializer.save() after validation.

Require a new API key when the provider origin changes.

An instance administrator can PATCH base_url to an attacker-controlled HTTPS origin while leaving api_key blank. The serializer preserves api_key_encrypted. A subsequent saved connection test decrypts the stored key and sends it to the new origin.

If the scheme, hostname, or port changes, require a new api_key or clear the stored key. Add a regression test for the PATCH-then-test flow.

Test the configuration that the save operation will use.

The draft serializer and new-key branch omit temperature, top_p, and max_output_tokens, although the save serializer persists them. The stored-key branch also retains persisted organization_id and project_id because it overrides only timeout and retry values. The adapter uses these fields in the request payload and headers, so the probe can pass with a different configuration than the one saved.

Add the missing fields to AIProviderConnectionTestSerializer and pass all submitted runtime fields through both branches. Preserve stored values only when an edit omits the corresponding field.

Protect the configured default model when other profiles remain.

When model_profiles is non-empty, get_active_provider_config() returns None unless an enabled profile matches provider.default_model. Deleting that profile or setting its enabled field to False therefore makes runtime AI requests unavailable.

Do not reject deletion of the only model profile. The admin UI explicitly supports zero profiles and keeps provider.default_model available in that state. For deletions or disables that leave profiles behind, reject the change unless another enabled profile becomes provider.default_model, and apply both updates atomically.

Align has_llm_configured with runtime provider selection.

has_llm_configured is true for any enabled provider with an encrypted key. get_active_provider_config() returns None when the selected provider has model profiles but no enabled model matching default_model. The flag also remains true for an unsupported legacy LLM_PROVIDER, while runtime selection rejects it.

The issue editor renders both AI actions from this flag. The GPT endpoints then return 400 with "LLM provider API key and model are required" because get_llm_config() receives no active configuration.

Use one shared usable-provider resolver for has_llm_configured and runtime selection, including legacy-provider validation. Do not use the raw enabled-provider query for this flag.

Enforce one default provider per instance.

Two concurrent create requests can both persist is_default=True. Each transaction can miss the other uncommitted row. Runtime selection then depends on ordering instead of a unique default.

Add a conditional unique constraint on instance where is_default=True. Include the constraint in the migration.

Allow slashes in model identifiers.

The str converter cannot match identifiers such as organization/model. Imported models with this format cannot be updated or deleted.

Use <path:model_id> for this final route.

…Chinese

The admin app has no i18n layer, so the visible strings on the god-mode
General page and the shared chrome around it were hardcoded English.
Translate them to Simplified Chinese to match the zh-CN product default:

- Sidebar menu labels/descriptions and the "Instance admin" header
- Settings breadcrumb and its segment labels
- General settings page title/description and the whole form
(instance details, telemetry section, save button, success toast)
- Theme-switch and sign-out entries in the account dropdown

Terminology follows packages/i18n/zh-CN (常规, 工作区, 身份验证, 邮箱,
保存更改). Proper nouns (Google/GitHub/GitLab/Gitea) are left as-is.

Extend instance AI provider profiles with a second wire protocol so
administrators can point Plane AI at Anthropic-compatible endpoints in
addition to OpenAI-compatible ones.

- license: add PROTOCOL_ANTHROPIC_MESSAGES choice and migration 0008
- external views: split the transport loop into a shared _BaseAdapter,
add an Anthropic Messages adapter, and share model-id list parsing
- settings: when AI_ALLOW_PRIVATE_ENDPOINTS is set on a trusted
deployment, take the admin-configured provider URL as given (any
http(s) host, no private-IP blocking), still pinning the resolved IP
at connect time; default posture stays https-only with SSRF checks
- admin form: expose the protocol selector for Anthropic endpoints
- types/tests: cover the new protocol across unit and contract tests

Return every text block in an Anthropic response.

When content contains two text blocks, next(...) returns the first and silently drops the rest. The Messages response contract permits an array of content blocks. Join the text blocks in order before returning the assistant response. (platform.claude.com)

Fetch all Anthropic model pages.

GET /models returns 20 entries by default and exposes has_more and last_id for pagination. When a provider has more than 20 available models, list_models silently omits every later page. Follow after_id until has_more is false, then return the combined IDs. (platform.claude.com)

Preserve legacy Gemini configurations.

The merge-base implementation registered gemini and routed Gemini models with the gemini/ prefix. The current legacy configuration path accepts only openai, so a configured Gemini provider returns None and both assistant endpoints return HTTP 400 before generating a response. Retain Gemini support through a compatible adapter, or provide an explicit migration path.
