ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — The PR changes production OAuth credential persistence, refresh-failure classification, and CloudLink retry behavior. Although the scope is focused and regression coverage is strong, authentication and sensitive-credential handling require human review. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

Addressed the linked-issue diagnostic warning in 83f102d. Permanent refresh rejection messages now include only a typed allowlisted OAuth code, with the existing login instruction. Raw descriptions and unknown/private error strings remain excluded. Reading the optional body stays inside the original ten-second timeout; a stalled or unreadable body retains the known permanent HTTP status, so it cannot restart the retry loop. All 62 token-manager and CloudLink tests pass, including parent interruption, code privacy, stalled 200/400 bodies, unreadable bodies, and lock release. Fresh CI is running. |

Taking over this one as maintainer for batch ssh-relay-remote-12. I’ll preserve the fork branch and author history, merge main, simplify the regression tests in a fresh pass, and run separate implementation and parallel adversarial reviews. Verification will use isolated credentials and headless Linux; no merge is planned. |
…nterruption # Conflicts: # apps/server/src/cloud/CliTokenManager.test.ts
Problem
A T3 Connect refresh can rotate the OAuth credential, then lose the replacement when shutdown interrupts the exchange or persistence. Permanent refresh rejection also used to enter the normal retry loop without actionable guidance.
Change
Keep refresh and persistence together under the existing credential lock, protected from cooperative parent interruption. Queued callers and interactive authorization remain cancellable. HTTP response and rejection-body reading share the existing ten-second budget.
Permanent refresh 4xx errors, except 408 and 429, stop CloudLink retries and instruct the operator to run
t3 connect login. A typed status drives that decision. Only allowlisted OAuth codes enter the message; diagnostic descriptions and arbitrary body/error text remain private. Malformed, unreadable, and timed-out rejection bodies retain the known status and underlying failure. This classification also treats a non-OAuth 4xx page from the token endpoint as requiring login.Credit to @Exotic209093 for the original fix in #19499. The takeover preserves the author’s commits, merges main, replaces predicate-only coverage with a real reconciliation/retry regression, and removes mutable HTTP-response tracking and diagnostic codes stored as causes.
Scope and approval
Addresses the backend scope of #19487, as triaged by the maintainer. It does not add desktop connection-status UI or change tunnel transport. Authentication and credential-handling approval remains for a human maintainer; this PR is left unmerged.
Verification
On head
cf5d9309e0:Independent full-diff review round 1 (Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol) found no blocking code defects; both reviewers independently passed all 69 focused tests.
These are headless Linux service-level tests with mocked HTTP and secret storage. No live OAuth account, real token rotation, process restart, relay, WSL/Windows, macOS, Electron desktop, iOS, or Android verification is claimed.
The protection covers cooperative interruption. Existing service-launcher and desktop supervisors force-kill after five seconds, while an exchange may use ten seconds and persistence has no separate deadline. Forced termination, power loss, or a stalled disk can still prevent persistence. Real service-restart verification and any follow-up to the supervisor grace period remain for a human; this change does not guarantee preservation across every shutdown.
Implemented and tested with GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Astra in the Codex harness; independent review with Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol through T3 Code.
