Both ends of that turn into software eventually — something needs measuring, or simulating, or sorting, and nothing off the shelf quite fits. What I build tends to be local-first and single-purpose: it runs on your own machine and does one job properly.
Field Catalog — culling and cataloguing for photographers who come home with more frames than time. Compare a burst frame by frame, keep the one that works, let the rest go. Identify the species, keep a life list, see where you shot it. Nothing leaves your machine unless you ask it to.
EE Labs — modeling tools for learning how signals, circuits and control behave, live here. Built because I find the math underneath all that behavior — and the way it intertwines cool and interesting: an RLC network, a digital biquad and a plant in a feedback loop are one object in three vocabularies, so a model built in one tool hands over to the others exactly. One rule throughout: every explanatory sentence is a claim about physics, and a test has to measure it before the app is allowed to print it.
