Review is cache kind settings are currently necessary for Crashlytics #81

Closed

Description

@kpgalligan

The docs reference setting:

kotlin.native.cacheKind.iosX64=none
kotlin.native.cacheKind.iosSimulatorArm64=none

This was due to linking issues. We should review if these are still necessary.

    Hey @kpgalligan, any updates on this? We were investigating how to improve iOS build times and found this issue. Latest Kotlin guidance suggests disabling caching may no longer be necessary. What would we expect to fail if we were to remove this setting?

    @edenman

    These settings are deprecated in Kotlin 2.3
    https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/projects/KT/issues/KT-80715/Deprecate-kotlin.native.cacheKind-and-introduce-DSL-instead

    But they're still listed in the setup instructions
    https://crashkios.touchlab.co/docs/crashlytics/#step-2---add-crashkios

    Any chance we can remove this requirement altogether? Or should we at least update the setup instructions to use the new DSL syntax?
