HIBC Data Matrix Rectangular is the rectangular variant of HIBC Data Matrix, equivalent to using format=rectangle.

Uses:

• Direct part marking of narrow areas of surgical instruments and other small items.

Variants:

• HIBC Data Matrix is the square variant.

Data syntax: HIBC LIC/PAS.

Standards: ISO/IEC 16022, ANSI/AIM BC11 - ISS Data Matrix, ANSI/HIBC Provider Applications Standard, ANSI/HIBC Supplier Labelling Standard, ANSI/HIBC Positive Identification for Patient Safety, ANSI/HIBC Syntax Standard.

Data and Options

• The data field input is provided as HIBC LIC or PAS data, without the leading +, and contains only digits, capital letters, space and -.$/+%.
• The HIBC + character is prefixed automatically.
• The mandatory HIBC check character is automatically appended to the input, unless validatecheck is given.
• The validatecheck option takes the last character of the data to be the check character and refuses the data if it is wrong.
• The data is checked against the HIBC data structures.
• Deprecated. The dontlint option disables the data structure checks, allowing symbols to be generated for data that does not comply with the HIBC standards.
